These Terms govern your access to and use of SongCheck, SoundAdvice websites, events, checkout, mentor, submission, SMS, replay, experimental Studio beta, and related services.
Last updated May 26, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SoundAdvice, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
2. Services
SoundAdvice provides SongCheck music feedback, mentorship, event, checkout, submission, replay, communications, and related community or educational services. Some services may be offered through separate websites, apps, third-party tools, or private beta experiences.
Studio and similar live-session or broadcast tools are experimental beta services for now. They may change, be limited to invited testers, be interrupted, or be discontinued while we evaluate them.
Certain features may be available only to eligible users, paid participants, invited testers, mentors, event attendees, or account holders.
3. Accounts and Eligibility
You may need an account or verified contact information to use certain features. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for providing accurate, current information.
SoundAdvice is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. Do not use the services if you are not legally able to agree to these Terms.
4. Payments, Events, and Access
SongCheck purchases, paid services, event registrations, subscriptions, or other purchases may be processed by Stripe or another payment provider. Prices, availability, access windows, mentor participation, event details, and replay access may vary by offering.
Promotion codes, discounts, complimentary access, and refunds are subject to the rules stated at the time of purchase or provided by SoundAdvice support. Access may be delayed, withheld, or revoked if a payment fails, is reversed, appears fraudulent, or violates these Terms.
5. User Content and Music Submissions
You retain ownership of the music, audio, video, text, files, SongCheck materials, and other materials you submit to SoundAdvice. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights and permissions needed to upload, share, stream, perform, or submit that content.
By submitting content, you grant SoundAdvice a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, display, reproduce, transcode, moderate, review, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate, provide, secure, support, and improve the services you use.
If you choose to participate in a public contest, promotional campaign, testimonial, event page, mentor feature, or similar public-facing opportunity, you also grant SoundAdvice permission to use the submitted content and related name, likeness, artist name, and biographical details for that opportunity, subject to any additional terms presented for that program.
We do not claim ownership of your music merely because you submit it to SoundAdvice.
6. Replays, Recordings, and Session Materials
SongCheck feedback, events, mentorship sessions, experimental Studio sessions, broadcasts, chats, comments, and related interactions may be recorded, transcribed, replayed, or archived when the product experience requires it or when notice is provided.
Replay and recording access is for authorized users only. You may not download, copy, redistribute, sell, screen-record, or publicly share private replays, session materials, or mentor feedback unless SoundAdvice gives written permission or the offering expressly allows it.
7. Acceptable Use
Do not use SoundAdvice for illegal, infringing, abusive, deceptive, harmful, or disruptive activity. Do not harass others, upload malicious code, scrape the services, bypass access controls, share private access links, interfere with payments, or attempt to reverse engineer non-public parts of the service.
Do not upload content that violates another person's rights, contains unlawful material, or exposes confidential information without permission.
8. Intellectual Property
SoundAdvice, including our name, logos, software, designs, copy, features, and platform materials, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Except for rights we expressly grant, we reserve all rights in the SoundAdvice services.
Mentor names, likenesses, credits, and third-party marks remain the property of their respective owners and may be used only as permitted by law or by the applicable owner.
9. SMS, Email, and Communications
If you opt in to SMS messages, message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, reply HELP for help, and reply STOP to cancel. Mobile opt-in data and consent will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
We may send service-related communications about your account, payments, event access, submissions, or security even if you opt out of promotional messages.
10. Third-Party Services
The services may depend on third-party providers for payments, hosting, analytics, storage, media delivery, SMS, email, security, authentication, and other operations. Your use of those third-party services may also be subject to their terms and policies.
11. Disclaimers
SoundAdvice is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not guarantee that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that mentorship, feedback, events, or other services will produce any particular career, creative, financial, or professional outcome.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoundAdvice will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to your use of the services.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to SoundAdvice if you violate these Terms, create risk for other users or the platform, fail to pay amounts owed, or use the services in a way that may cause legal, security, operational, or reputational harm.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
